VOV.VN – However, Vietnam's export of agricultural and food products still faces many challenges due to food safety barriers.

This morning (December 20), in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI – Netherlands, under the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs) jointly held a consultation workshop titled “Exporting Agri-Food Products to the European Market.”
Europe is currently Vietnam’s third largest trading partner and the second largest export market. However, in order to maintain and expand its market share in Europe, Vietnamese producers and exporters of agri-food products continue to face various difficulties, particularly concerning food safety and phytosanitary requirements for fruit and vegetable production.
At the workshop, senior European market advisors from CBI, along with representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, discussed with businesses the current situation of Vietnam’s agri-food exports, common issues when accessing the European market, and the opportunities and challenges of exporting food ingredients to Europe.
The workshop opened up opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises in the food ingredient production and export sector to penetrate and expand into EU markets.
Through direct consultation programs with experts, training sessions, and trade connection activities, businesses are expected to successfully build market penetration strategies and establish direct relationships with potential customers in Europe.
